Cross-Sell & Accessory Bundling

In one line: Cross-sell and accessory bundling uses AI to suggest the right add-on for each purchase — based on what similar customers actually bought, not generic rules — lifting basket value.

What it does

When a customer buys a camera, AI knows which lens, memory card, and case other camera buyers went on to purchase — and surfaces those at the right moment. It learns from your actual transaction history rather than a static “customers also bought” rule someone set up years ago.

Why it matters

Raising the average basket is one of the cheapest ways to grow revenue — you’ve already won the customer, so an extra relevant item is close to pure upside. For categories under heavy price pressure, like electronics, attach-rate on accessories and warranties is often where the real margin lives.

What to watch for

Relevance is everything. Irrelevant suggestions train customers to ignore the prompts entirely. Good systems suppress add-ons that don’t fit and only surface ones with a genuine pattern behind them.
